Building Hope

We are honored to invite you to the 8th Annual Conference of the Mitvim Institute, in collaboration with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, to be held on November 13th, from 16:00 to 20:00, at the Rabin Center in Tel Aviv.

A few weeks after the beginning of the fragile ceasefire, and at the opening of an election year, the Mitvim Institute will bring together under one roof the leaders of change — from war to political action. The conference will gather political leaders, senior diplomats, policy planners, and leading experts from Israel and abroad to discuss the building of hope — how Israel can emerge from its current diplomatic abyss and embark on a new political path, based on strategic initiative and control over its own destiny.

Among the participants:

Former Deputy Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. (res.) Yair Golan, Chair of The Democrats; Former Minister of Energy MK Karin Elharar, Yesh Atid; MK Ram Ben Barak, Yesh Atid; Michael Mann, EU Ambassador to Israel;  Former Ambassador and MK Colette Avital; Dr. Aziz Alghashian, Senior Research Fellow at the Mitvim Institute and at the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington. Former Ambassador Dr. Rodica Gordon; Former Ambassador Liora Herzl; Former Ambassador Danny Carmon; Former Ambassador Jeremy Issacharoff; Prof. (Emeritus) and former MK Manuel Trajtenberg, Tel Aviv University; Prof. Eli Podeh, Hebrew University of Jerusalem and member of Mitvim’s Board of Directors; Dr. Carmit Valensi, Senior Researcher at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS); Former MK Sondos Saleh, Leadership Member of Standing Together; Eran Nissan, CEO of Mehazkim and Co-leader of the Phoenix Framework; Sharon Benjio, Director of Government Relations at EcoPeace.

Ein-Blick in die Westbank

October 2025 Demolition Update

New data reveals an escalating pattern of displacement and violence in the occupied West Bank, with Israeli forces conducting 445 demolition operations year-to-date, displacing 1,770 Palestinians and destroying 1,409 structures. The daily reality averaging 6.87 people displaced and 4.85 structures demolished, reflects systematic policies of territorial control through bureaucratic violence and collective erasure.

Today is the day we have been working towards.

Today is the day we have been shouting, crying, calling for in all means available to us. Today, we welcome the announcement of a ceasefire deal that allows us to let out a deep breath, but with mixed emotions. There is joy that this nightmare is seemingly coming to an end. There is cynicism that it has taken so long to reach this point. Nevertheless, today, we breathe a sigh of relief with the people of Gaza, with the hostage families, with everyone in the land who has been suffering the consequences of this war.

But we know that our work is far from over. We know the road to reconciliation is long and requires patience. The scars of this war, on bodies, on hearts, on the land itself, will not heal quickly. But we are more committed than ever.

Today, we breathe, and tomorrow we continue to act. We act against injustice, violence, and occupation. We act in support of a just and peaceful solution.

Today is a historical day and an important first step on the road towards achieving true safety, freedom, and equality for all.

Jetzt beginnt der wirkliche Kampf

Aus dem aktuellen Mailing von Standing Together

This is what we’ve been fighting for!!!

After two unbearable years, we can finally celebrate the deal that will put an end to the killing and destruction in Gaza and the suffering of the Israeli hostages. We’re full of hope and anticipation for the ceasefire to come into effect and to watch the hostages reunite with their families. The joy in the streets in Gaza and Israel last night was incredible. This moment couldn’t have come soon enough.

Now, we must fight for the only thing that can give all of us freedom, safety, and independence: Israeli-Palestinian peace.
Peace means an end to the occupation, an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel, and a comprehensive agreement. We simply have to end this dark chapter and move forward toward justice for all of us.
