Nimrod Flaschenberg: Israelische Friedensarbeit in Deutschland / Israeli Peace Work in Germany
Welche Erfahrungen machen friedensbewegte Israelis in der deutschen Diaspora nach dem 7. Oktober? Wie funktioniert progressives politisches Engagement in Zeiten von “Staatsräson”? Über diese und andere Fragen wollen wir am 16. Juni 2026 mit Nimrod Flaschenberg sprechen, Ko-Gründer der Initiative “Israelis for Peace” in Berlin und ehemaliger politischer Berater für die sozialistische israelische Partei Chadash. Im Mittelpunkt unseres einstündigen Gesprächs soll es um israelischen Aktivismus in Berlin und die Zukunft von Friedensarbeit im Angesicht des Gaza-Krieges und der kommenden Parlamentswahlen in Israel gehen.
Das Gespräch findet von 19 bis 20 Uhr online auf Zoom und in englischer Sprache statt. Eine Anmeldung ist nicht erforderlich.
What experiences do peace-oriented Israelis have in the German diaspora after October 7? How does progressive political engagement work in times of “Staatsräson”? These are the questions we will discuss with Nimrod Flaschenberg on June 16, 2026. Nimrod is the co-founder of the initiative “Israelis for Peace” in Berlin and a former political advisor to the socialist Israeli party Hadash. The focus of our one-hour discussion will be Israeli activism in Berlin and the future of peace work in the face of the Gaza war and the upcoming parliamentary elections in Israel.
The event will take place online via Zoom from 7PM to 8PM and will be held in English. No registration is required.

International Peace Fund for Israelis and Palestinians
Joint statement from the Foreign Ministers of the UK, Australia and Canada on the launch of the International Peace Fund for Israelis and Palestinians
Today, we the Foreign Ministers of the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada are pleased to announce that we will establish a new International Peace Fund for Israelis and Palestinians, a multi-donor initiative to support peacebuilding efforts to establish the conditions for a lasting peace.
We are doing so at a moment of acute crisis in Israel and Palestine. The last three years have exacted a devastating and dehumanising toll on civilians and deepened mistrust and division between communities. At the same time, civil society has faced increasing restrictions and unprecedented pressure.
As prospects for a two-state solution remain challenging in the short term, there is an urgent need to invest in the conditions that can make future peace possible, through sustained dialogue and vital grassroots engagement.
We remain committed to a just and lasting resolution to the Israel-Palestine conflict, based on a negotiated two-state solution in which Israeli and Palestinian people can live in peace, security and dignity.
The fund will help strengthen the voices of moderates and marginalise the extremists, including Hamas.
As we have learned from other entrenched conflicts around the world, peace cannot be achieved through political and security measures alone. It also requires sustained effort to rebuild trust, to strengthen cooperation, and to highlight the shared humanity of people.
The Peace Fund will invest in programmes that advance a two-state solution, help reduce division, strengthen civil society, and support dialogue and cooperation within and between Israeli and Palestinian communities, building the foundations for peace.
The Fund will complement existing diplomatic, humanitarian and development efforts by helping to build the relationships, confidence and shared understanding needed for successful negotiations.
Funding contributions underscore strong international commitment to this initiative. As such, we will each be contributing initial seed funding equivalent to £1 million over three years. Once established, the Fund will be open to additional financial contributions from international partners committed to advancing peace.
Funding will be directed to trusted civil society organisations (CSOs) in both Israel and Palestine, with demonstrated expertise in peacebuilding and dialogue. Additional information on the fund, and its modalities will be announced shortly.
We call on our international partners to support this initiative and invest in the long-term foundations of peace. We also urge all parties to the conflict to take steps to reduce tensions, protect civilians, including humanitarian workers, and uphold international law.
The United Kingdom, Australia and Canada remain committed to working with partners to advance a two-state solution, as the only viable option for peace, security and dignity for Israelis and Palestinians.

Sanitation conditions in Gaza continue to deteriorate and remain critical. After months and years in displacement camps without adequate infrastructure, families face increasing health risks linked to inadequate waste management, sewage overflows, and accumulating rubble. Clean Shelter continues to work across these interconnected challenges, focusing on practical, mid-term measures to mitigate risks in waste management, sewage containment, and rubble clearance, and is committed to delivering water for multiple uses to remote areas that lack access.
House-Warming: 25 Additional Families Return Home
Through our Shelter Program, Clean Shelter has restored safer and more dignified living conditions for 25 families by repairing damaged homes and making them habitable and weather-resistant once again. These interventions help families move out of tents and return to more stable shelter, improving safety, dignity, and protection for vulnerable households.
In addition, we carried out essential sewage repairs in a residential building in Gaza, housing 28 families. The work helped address environmental contamination and significantly improved sanitation conditions for all residents.
Sewage Control
Sewage management remains one of our most urgent priorities. As part of an ongoing project providing bathroom panels and septic tanks, we delivered essential infrastructure across multiple displacement sites: five bathroom panels installed in five camps and seven septic tanks installed in seven camps.
These interventions improve hygiene conditions, help prevent sewage overflow, and reduce health risks for displaced families living under increasingly difficult circumstances.
Water Access Expanded to a New Area
In addition to our continuous provision of safe drinking water to 60,000 people per day, Clean Shelter has successfully extended water access to a community residing at a higher elevation in Tal Elamal. This community previously had to walk long distances to obtain water. The problem is now solved for 140 families, who no longer face this daily burden.

With sanitation conditions deteriorating and funding remaining unpredictable, your support is essential to keep these vital services running and to reach more families in urgent need. Der 11. Kalender im Rahmen von israel & palästina | Zeitschrift für Dialog!
Dieser Kalender ging in den Druck zu einem Zeitpunkt, an dem es einen fragilen Waffenstillstand im Gazastreifen gab, von dem auch heute niemand weiß, ob er auch 2026 halten wird.
In der Westbank verschärft sich die Lage zugleich weiter und in Israel finden wir eine tiefgespaltene Gesellschaft vor, bei der noch nicht klar ist, ob sich die Kräfte der Dominanz oder der Kooperation durchsetzen werden.
Der Photobegleiter in Kalenderform für das Jahr lädt jeden Monat ein, noch einmal auf die Lage im Gazastreifen zu schauen. Die wenigen Quadratkilometer sind versehrt und zerstört, wie es kaum denkbar schien. Aber es sind nicht nur die zerbombten Häuser, auch die Menschen haben Schaden genommen und der Weg der Heilung wird lang.
Die Wunden sind auf beiden Seiten tief und es gilt, sie nicht gegeneinander aufzurechnen, sondern mit Empathie und Zuwendung nach Möglichkeiten zu suchen, wie eine andere Zukunft aussehen kann und was (man:frau:wir) dafür tun können. Eine Möglichkeit gibt es über die jeweiligen Spendenlinks und QR-Codes der Organisationen.

Zur Lage in der Westbank
Gemeinsame Erklärung der Staats- und Regierungschefs des Vereinigten Königreichs, Italiens, Frankreichs und Deutschlands zur Lage im Westjordanland
In den letzten Monaten hat sich die Lage im Westjordanland erheblich verschlechtert.
Die Gewalt durch Siedler hat ein noch nie dagewesenes Ausmaß erreicht. Die Politik und Vorgehensweise der israelischen Regierung, einschließlich einer weiteren Verfestigung der israelischen Kontrolle, untergraben die Stabilität und die Aussichten auf eine Zwei-Staaten-Lösung.
Das Völkerrecht ist unmißverständlich: israelische Siedlungen im Westjordanland sind illegal. Bauprojekte im Gebiet E1 wären keine Ausnahme.
Die Siedlungserschließung im Gebiet E1 würde das Westjordanland zweiteilen und wäre ein schwerwiegender Bruch internationalen Rechts.
Wirtschaftsunternehmen sollten sich nicht an Bauausschreibungen für das Gebiet E1 oder an anderen Projekten zur Siedlungserschließung beteiligen. Sie sollten sich der rechtlichen und auch der rufschädigenden Folgen bewußt sein, die ihre Beteiligung am Siedlungsbau hätte, einschließlich des Risikos, an schweren Verstößen gegen das Völkerrecht beteiligt zu sein.
Wir fordern die Regierung Israels auf, die Ausweitung der Siedlungen und ihrer administrativen Kompetenzen zu beenden, die Rechenschaftspflicht für Gewalttaten durch Siedler sicherzustellen und Anschuldigungen gegen israelische Streitkräfte nachzugehen, die haschemitische Obhut über die heiligen Stätten Jerusalems und die historischen Status-Quo-Regelungen zu respektieren sowie die der Palästinensischen Behörde und der palästinensischen Wirtschaft auferlegten finanziellen Beschränkungen aufzuheben. Wir stellen uns entschieden denjenigen entgegen, einschließlich Mitgliedern der israelischen Regierung, die sich für eine Annexion des Westjordanlandes sowie die gewaltsame Vertreibung der palästinensischen Bevölkerung aussprechen.
Wir bekräftigen unser unerschütterliches Bekenntnis zu einem umfassenden, gerechten und dauerhaften Frieden auf der Grundlage einer verhandelten Zwei-Staaten-Lösung im Einklang mit den einschlägigen Resolutionen des VN-Sicherheitsrats, eine Lösung, nach der zwei demokratische Staaten, Israel und Palästina, in Frieden und Sicherheit innerhalb sicherer und anerkannter Grenzen nebeneinander existieren.
