Thirteen days already is going on a war that was caused by the murderous and surprising attack of the Hamas terror organization on Israel in which many civilians lost their lives and two hundreds were kidnapped. This attack was followed by the indiscriminate bombing of Gaza strip by the Israeli air force in which many civilians were killed. This is a major event that we in the region did not encounter since the Yom Kippur war in 1973—with one distinguished difference.  In that war we had a surprising attack by Egyptian and Syrian army that did not perform atrocities against civilians but fought against Israeli army.

The present war is very dangerous for the region and the whole world. We do not know how it will be pursued and what will be its results. In this context there are different narratives and news, as well as fake news. I, as a political psychologist, have a responsibility to present the events of the war as well as provide a context to it. I carry this mission as a professional, a citizen of the world, a Jew and as an Israeli. I am deeply concern about the future and therefore submit you a comprehensive description of what happened and what is the context.
