Im Alter von 78 Jahren ist am 10. November Prof. em. Dr. Micha Brumlik gestorben. Er war von 2000 bis 2005 Direktor des Fritz Bauer Instituts in Frankfurt/Main und von 2000 bis 2013 dort suv Universitätsprofessor. Geboren 1947 im schweizerischen Davos, Sohn jüdischer Eltern, die während der NS-Zeit verfolgt wurden. Er engagierte sich zeitweise bei den Grünen.
Immer wieder hat er sich kritisch und engagiert in der Debatte um das Verhältnis Deutschland-Israel-Palästina, aber auch zum jüdisch-christlichen Verhältnis und zu den Beziehungen zum Islam zu Wort gemeldet. Erinnert sei hier an seine Mitarbeit an der Entstehung und Propagierung der Jerusalem Deklaration zum Antisemitimus, zu der er auch beim diAkRede und Antwort stand.

A few weeks after the beginning of the fragile ceasefire, and at the opening of an election year, the Mitvim Institute will bring together under one roof the leaders of change — from war to political action.
